WORKERS’ MEMORIAL DAY, APRIL 28TH

  • 2:00pm>  SET UP AT PARK FOR EVENT:
    • ASSEMBLE BELL & STAND
    • ADD ICE TO DRINK TROUGHS
    • SET UP SOUND SYSTEM

 

 

  • 3:00pm>  * DRY RUN AGENDA/ TWEAKING TIME:
    • PIPES AND DRUMS
    • VFW COLOR GUARD
    • LPD HONOR GUARD (LPD)
    • IDAHO & WASHINGTON STATE PATROLS
    • CLEARWATER PAPER FIRE DEPARTMENT

 

  • 4:00pm>  START EVENT:
    • Emcee:  Ron Teigen, President of the International Association of Machinists Local W364 and current President of the Lewis-Clark Central Labor Council.
    • 4:01 pm
      • Introduces him self, title and affiliation.
      • Reads Proclamation to initiate our Workers’ Memorial Day Observance.
      • Introduce USW Local 712 Welder Scott Burrup for opening blessing of our event.
    • 4:10 pm
      • Introduces the “Lewiston Firefighters –Pipes and Drums Band”. (Steps back while they play their 4/4 ending in Amazing Grace)
    • 4:15 pm
      • Introduces the VFW Post #10043 Color Guard (They place the flag(s) on the stage).
      • Introduces the Members of the LHS Golden Voices to sing the “National Anthem”.
    • 4:20 pm
      • Introduces the Lewiston Police Department Honor Guard.
      • *Recognize the Idaho and Washington State Police and other municipalities in attendance.
      • Reads the WMD History, Presidential proclamation, Numbers Summary…
    • 4:25 pm
      • Introduce Keynote Speaker- Jon Geenen, USW-International Vice President, paper sector
      • Introduce 2nd Speaker- Former Idaho House Representative Liz Chavez
      • Introduce 3rd Speaker- Idaho State AFL-CIO President Dave Whaley
    • 4:50 pm
      • Start the reading of names of the fallen workers…. Bell tones for each Group.
        • Each Organization, if present, will speak the names of there own.
    • 5:05 pm
      • Introduce Gary Gemberling, LHS Band Instructor, and the playing of “TAPS”.
      • Re-introduction of USW Local 712 Welder Scott Burrup for closing Benediction.
      • Thank U’s, and Closing remarks.

  • 6:00 pm> STRIKE THE SET……PICK-UP / CLEAN-UP
