Congressional Candidate Comparison:

Idaho Senate

Rapid Response Congressional Candidate Comparisons track the key issues Rapid Response has taken on recently.

The following comparison is for a race considered key in your state.

ISSUE: Larry LaRocco James Risch

Anti-Sweatshop Bill

(The Decent Working Conditions and Fair

Competition Act, H.R. 1992 & S. 367) This

Steelworker-driven legislation works to ensure fair

competition and global worker rights by stopping

products that are made in sweatshops from being

sold on our shelves. Rapid Response has urged

lawmakers to cosponsor the bill.

Right Wrong

The Employee Free Choice Act

(H.R. 800 & S. 1041) In multiple actions in recent

years, Rapid Response urged lawmakers to support

the Employee Free Choice Act, legislation that would

restore the freedom to form a union. The bill

provides tougher penalties for employers that

threaten, intimidate and fire workers who want to join

a union; requires employers to recognize the union

when a majority of employees sign cards authorizing

the union to represent them, eliminating long delays

by employers today; and ensures a first contract

after organizing.

Right Wrong

Colombia Free Trade Agreement

Colombia has the most murders of union members

of any country around the globe. This pending free

trade agreement does nothing to protect workers.

Rapid Response engaged in a national action to stop

this agreement in the past year.

Right Wrong
Right = Supports the USW position. Wrong = Opposes the USW position.
